Leah Jorgensen (French horn) is a current Horn Performance and Music Education major at the Eastman School of Music. In high school, she was selected for many PMEA festivals including All State Orchestra and for NAfME’s All National Orchestra. Leah was the winner of her school’s concerto competition and the National John Phillip Sousa Band Award. Over the past summers, Leah has been blessed with the opportunity to attend Lutheran Summer Music Camp, Tanglewood Music Camp, and Interlochen Arts Camp. In high school, Leah studied French horn with Dr. Brian Norcross; and in college, she studies with world-renowned Peter Kurau. She is thankful for all the support she has had in following her dreams. When Leah is not playing horn she enjoys working at the Rochester YMCA as a lifeguard, swimming, biking, running,hiking and volunteering at her Church. Leah hopes to change the world through music one day by teaching music in Guatemala and then becoming a teacher and minister in her community.
