Conductor Prelude

Strings grades 4-6 and

Intermezzo (strings grades 6-8) 


This is a combined position that will conduct both ensembles. There will be two conductors selected that will run simultaneous programs, located in different geographic locations (north and south Lancaster County). 


Rehearsal will be Sunday afternoons (Prelude 2:00pm - 3:00pm, Intermezzo 3:15pm - 4:15pm), twice a month. Rehearsal location to be announced. There will be one concert, at the end of the academic season (early May). Stipend $2,000 per academic year.


Conductor Overture Orchestra

Full orchestra, grades 8-12


Rehearsals will be determined based on the availability of rehearsal location and the schedule of the

conducting candidate.


Overture is the developmental ensemble, leading to Allegretto, which is the highest select ensemble in the Allegro

NextGEN program.


Rehearsal will most likely be on Sunday afternoons from 2:00pm - 4:30pm, twice a month; Monday evenings from 7:00pm - 9:00pm, twice a month; or combination of Sunday afternoons and Tuesday evenings. Overture will have seven rehearsals in a five-week span, followed by time off before the next season begins (mimicking the Allegretto schedule).


There will be two or three concerts per academic year, depending rehearsal schedule.

Stipend $2,000 per academic year.
