Music in the Round: Allegro Serenades You
Wind Ensembles of 8 to 12 performers have been major contributors to cultural life for centuries. Allegro will bring to life two of these major works, both Serenades for winds:
Richard Strauss Serenade Op. 7, written when Richard was 18 years old! Plus Antonin Dvorak’s Serenade Op. 44 for winds, cello and bass. These two Serenades are some of the most beautiful and uplifting of the small wind ensemble repertoire. We will include Consort by Spittal as a delightful diversion between Strauss and Dvorak.
Repertoire
-
Strauss - Serenade, Op. 7
-
Rober Spittal - Consort
-
Dvorak - Serenade, Op. 44
